Ghoul Gak: Sensory Play for Toddlers

Looking for a messy and fun sensory play for you and your kiddos this season? Whip up some easy ghoul gak!

All you need is cornstarch, water (food coloring optional) and some fun Halloween toys and accessories.

This stuff is so fun to play with because it’s a solid and a liquid and messy and just plain weird!

To make the gak you need to mix:

– 1 cup of cornstarch

– 1/2 cup water

– a few drops of food coloring (I added yellow and red to try to make orange)

Mix the ingredients together until to get a wet consistency (add water a tiny bit at a time if it seems too dry)

I threw in some old tiny Halloween toys from some of our old Halloween’s sensory bins we’ve made.

It’s fun to press and roll the objects to see how the gak reacts!

If you want easy clean up, line your tray or bin with foil so that you can gather it up and toss it when you’re all done playing.

The mixture should clean easily off of toys and little hands with soap and water.

I hope you’ll add this easy, simple and fun sensory activity to your Halloween tricks-and-treats this season!

This stuff is a great way to also introduce new vocabulary words to toddlers and make predictions together like mad scientists playing in the goopy ghoulish goo.

Stay spooky,

Callie Jo
